Hi
Not a newbie, bit very much a newbie to the AUS markets.
Dipped in months ago and dipped out much faster when I experienced volatility that made the forex markets look more stable.

But a recent bot change has enabled me to target drifters and it seems to be okay on the AUS markets.

What i don't know is what the form stuff means: R4, R1, Pace M, and such...

Googled a bit, found nothing so much appreciated if someone can explain what the AUS form track stuff means.

Thanks.

R1 is race one, two, three, four

You have too main codes in Aus, traditional flat and harness racing. Generally no jumps racing.

So pace would be a style of harness racing: -

Liquidity is very low on Harness racing.

Australian races are also represent in metres as opposed to miles and furlongs. A mile is ~1609m and a furlong is ~201m, but with metrication this is usually rounded but not always.

I've seen quite a few races @ 2100m, which is roughly 1 mile and 2 & 1/2 furlongs, and 3400m which is 2 miles and 2 furlongs

The Rx system takes a bit of getting used to, but I prefer it (maybe from being an insomniac) as it helps when looking for the racecard.

Look here and at the image I've attached:
