My view is that has moved the price out (going up)

Generally look as if you watching the graph move in time and your see where the money has sent that.

I keep changing my mind. I think you are probably right though ... when trading big liquid markets you cant see it but in this low liquid market you can clearly see what is doing what. Sometimes you see a 1000 bet and it takes the graph one way or the other and its hard to read if its making it come in or drift

I guess the question is:

Was it a back bet or a lay bet?

It's impossible to tell, the market isn't very liquid, it could have been either and there is no way to tell unless you were watching / recording.

After more investigation see this graph attached!

I was watching before the off and that 2500 clearly showed the graph on a descent, with no upward curve around it atall ... it was an inplay race .. after it finished i looked again and it showed this on the graph .. showing it as drifting after the bet was placed ...

Is it not possible that when it shows this that the bet crashed the price down then there was a reversal with the small bets putting the price back up - as the race went on it scrunched the graph up and made it look like this?

It would obviously take a lay and a back bet. Id side with saying someone entered a back bet into the market and the market moves against the back bet to put it into a looking position.
