anyone else find the early races are harder to trade or just me?i feel the markets are more difficult to read...any suggestions would be appreciated!
early races are harder to trade?
how come I always lose money on the first couple of races
...I have been trading for over two years and making consistent profits now,but the losses from early races really annoy me coz i just don't want to start the day with losses, maybe i should just skip them next time....

first 3 to 4 races is where i am prone to lose/trade bad. my problem is that i "forget" how they feel, how fast and when the price will move.
i kinda tune up on the the first 3/4 race's by using a third of what would be my normal stakes.
by the fourth/fifth race i usually get the feel for market and then up my stakes to their more normal levels.
if things go wrong on the first few races i have not gone that far backwards cause of the reduced stakes and recover the lose quickly.
i dont know why i cant "remember" how the markets feel or the speed at which they can move, i just know that i do not.
it works for me.

Most of my losses are in the first and the last race.
I believe it is a mind thing.Your mind is not jet ready and in tune with your trading mind.
My losses at the and of racing I put down to fatique and tiredness. Now that I have realisesd this I spend the first 20min to get into my trading mind and for the end if I feel getting tired I cut my trading day short.

I talk about this during the course, so there are reasons for it which we have looked at. But typically the first race of the day is very hard and rarely do I make a decent total on it, but things tend to pick up as the day goes on. I never go into panic mode if I haven't acheived anything early on, but I will if it's 5pm and I've earned nothing!
I also find it slow to get going, not sure if it's the markets seem more volatile and less predictable earlier on or it's me just taking my time to get up to speed. I definitely make most of my profits in the latter half of the day.
Seems to affect most people though (even Mr Webb), so I can deal with that.
