Recent Decline in Liquidity
With the exception of the US political markets, where I have never experienced so much liquidity as there was in the Trump/Clinton matchup, I have noticed a significant decline in liquidity on Betfair markets that I trade, namely NFL football and NBA basketball. There were previously large hedgers in these markets, entering individual orders in the large 5-figure range, much of the time offering very good value and size for sharp traders, often skewing prices and causing them to lean for quite sime time afterwards. These large orders are now few and far between in these two markets in play. An NBA basketball game can now go the entire game without reaching 6 figures in total trade on the moneyline - previously unheard of. Do you have any stats on the decline in liquidity in NFL and NBA versus the rest of the exchange?
