Caling it a day bored out of my brains with this racing. Haircut and pub. Enjoy the rest of your day.
And no it wasnt because you said to take the evening off and relax. I have plans.

If you want to make it as a trader you need to plod on thru the bread and butter days like these. From what I've seen there's plenty of money floating around and decent fields. If you find Friday's boring to trade god help you on the Monday's , Tuesday's, Wednesday's when you need to earn your rent.
I guess it could explain why you feel the need to go on the chase and tilt at times if you're viewing trading in terms of how exciting it can be and sub consciously injecting some fun or excitement into the days trading by riskier trades/chases and so on.

Right. I have traded for almost 12 hours straight for weeks and weeks.Pinnochio wrote:If you want to make it as a trader you need to plod on thru the bread and butter days like these. Listen mate, lets get one thing clear.
Just because you are finding it a good day doesnt necessarly mean I am?
I mean I am shot down for saying the word boring.
I have been sat at my desk for 3 hours trading today, I have plans tonight and I was expecting some good moves on a few races that didnt happen. So I am knocking the day on its head.
Yep I found the markets boring today, I have things on my mind and plans for this evening so I have finished early.
I think holly whollouby is beautiful doesnt mean I am going to leave my wife for her.
Now I am being accused of not trading my bread and butter races.
I wouldnt like to walk past you in the street appears you might attack me from behind.
If your making money from trading then you must be pretty fantastic because you know all the answers all the time.
Theres no need to keep talking to me like a kid.
can i respectfully recommend that you let this thread gracefully expire. it's not doing you any good and there's nothing coming out from the input that i feel is going to help you or others in their trading journeys, now or in the future.

Now your bored out of your brains on what is the best days racing of the week.
But you can trade one greyhound race after another( with low liquidity and far more volatile than any horserace) to chase your losses
You say youve traded for weeks and weeks 12 hours a day, but have you really ?
no doubt you have been at your computer ..but trading?
No ones treating you like a kid..tho you are behaving like one with replies like that
Read the last few post from others, all offering advice and trying to help you...and how youve reacted.
AS one post just said there are people on here who have advice thats has been aquired over "hundreds of man year"
You show no humility, And i really do think its time for you to gracefully depart... as there is nothing positve in it for anyone embarking on trading
trading should be enjoyable ..and a means to giving you more freedom to enjoy life and do those thing that 9-5 drudge doesnt allow ..should be aproached with a smile not a scowl
hope your trading wasn't too bad( no doubt we will find out later)... you enjoy your evening and keep your pecker up !!

I think what this thread has shown more than anything else, is that there's a lot of kind, patient people out there all giving their time for no reward although we probably all have very different lives and outlooks. Take me and LeTiss for example, we've had some real ding-dongs about politics (some of which I regret now), but at the end of the day.. not so different. That's a such a nice thing and helps keep my faith in human nature.
The other thing I take away is a phrase ringing in my head...
"You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink".
(mic drop)

Couldn't agree more with you .. Lots of nice and extremely knowledgeable , and very patient people on here. I've learnt a lot by watching Peters videos , reading his blogs , and reading some very very good threads and posts on here.ShaunWhite wrote:I think what this thread has shown more than anything else, is that there's a lot of kind, patient people out there all giving their time for no reward although we probably all have very different lives and outlooks. And any time I've asked a question ( usually a vey basic one!! ) I've always had an answer which solves it ( thank you Dallas and everybody else !! )
But every so often you get a thread like this ... And you just know don't you ... You try and give your view and help .. But really you just know don't you
You try and keep an open mind .. But you just know ....big sigh ..

When I first joined this forum I read an awful lot of threads some old and some new .. And well remember a certain SHR contributions . Which I guess is part of the reason I persevere with this thread . I like many others took him at his word and tried to offer some advice as did many others . The author of this dirge of a thread reminds me of one of my favourite 1960s films . A comedy starring Tom Courtney , Rodney Bewes and a young Julie Christe, and scripted by Keith Waterhouse ...the title bring a very apt description of said author
Hopefully we can put this thread to bed once and for all .. We tried SHR we really did
Some quotes from SHR on previous threads ... Feel free to compare his pearls of wisdom and modesty to his views on this thread
On his Profitabiliy...
"Trading results have flown through the roof. Let me tell you. There is no better feeling than looking at a race and saying. You know what I am going to not trade this. My trading is far more relaxed and my improvements are off the scale "
"I am by no means an expert yet but I am profitable and learnt the hard way."
In reply to someone saying they can't remember the last time they had a loss on a Saturday ....
"I have to agree with you. My only unprofitables saturdays are due to a lack of my ability/experience when they have occoured."
"Some Saturday I only manage to trade 6/7 races the whole day. Yet I make more from them then I do for the whole week."
And From the man who trades 12 hours a day and says trading with small stakes is the best thing he's ever done
"When I started I just wanted to trade everything. Although will only be a year on 30 September. I think long term and starting in Jan 2017 I will only trade Thurs, Fri, Sat and high volume race days."
"Apart from that I really have no desire to sit there on Monday and make £50. Id rather study a hobby or spend it with my family. "
Its really wierd I had desires of make a fortune and now Im just happy to make a nice lump and be flexible most weeks."
"My purpose of trading is to turn over as much as possible. The more you put through the more you make if you are profitable."
And giving advice to a new trader on his classic contribution to " The biggest Edge " thread
"Look I cant tell you everything what to do as this would be unfair to all the hard work everyone puts in."
"I'm sorry, there is no way on this planet you have been trading a year right?
Your having us on right?"
"You need to know what your doing when your trading. By this I mean why you are doing something. I may be wrong but I just get a real sense of you don't know what your doing, what you are looking at, why you are doing it. And certainly you aren't confident in what your doing."
And don't get me started on his views on handicapping horses ... My brain would implode !!

Politics and Religion are the thorniest subjects, as you will find some very contrasting views. I have no enemies here, that's for sure
