Hi All
Which horse 11.45 race today if any would you scalp with ladder and why?
I am learning scalping and looking at BA videos you need to look for a narrow range of prices and not those horses with prices moving around a lot, and look at charts to see if price of horse is coming in or going out longer?
Any advice appreciated.
See attached screen shot
PS My choice to scalp would be medicine hat as price range narrow near the off, the second fav has no backers so cant scalp, the 3rd fav very wide range of prices so too risky?
Which Horse Scalp Today And Why 11.45
I certainly would not be scalping this type of race, i swing traded 'Medicine Hat' starting with a back @ 2.42 right after a backer desperately wanted there 10K matching about 6mins to post time and dripped the lays out between 2.20-2s.
For scalping you should be looking for the more competitive type races (no short prices fav's) with runners operating in a definded price range

Thanks good link above and explanation "First your looking for one whose price is quite steady (not one that’s odds are drifting or steaming). In the 1st image below the runner ‘Rupert Bear’ is just one of a few runners whose odds are currently very steady, this can be seen from its micro chart. Once you have identified a runner whose odds look steady the next thing to check for is the amount of unmatched money there is waiting either side of its current price, as your bets will be queued behind this you’ll be wanting to see a similar amount waiting on both the back and lay side. On ‘Rupert Bear’ there happens to be £154 one side and £166 on the other so is about as close as you can get. If both sides had very small amounts of money waiting to be matched this would be even better as you would be instantly near the front of the que with both your back and lay bets – the worst time is when their is a small amount one side and a large amount other like the runner ‘Dulhallowcounty’ in the image.Dallas wrote:I certainly would not be scalping this type of race, i swing traded 'Medicine Hat' starting with a back @ 2.42 right after a backer desperately wanted there 10K matching about 6mins to post time and dripped the lays out between 2.20-2s.

So, at this moment in time ‘Rupert Bear’ would be ideal runner to try and scalp using the ‘Make Market’ button. When clicking the ‘Make Market’ button a back and lay bet will simultaneously be placed 1 tick apart either side of the current price, these will be shown in the unmatched area at the bottom of your screen until matched when they will disappear. ..."
Tried the make market in practice mode won £1 with £10 trade, with greening 16p ?
Looked for chart with level pricing as much as possible so went for doubledisdoubledat.
Is that correct or would you have gone for another runner?

Its far better Scalping with the make market button in the final 5 mins pre-race when the actvity picks up not in-play but had those charts been pre-race then yes you did pick the right runner as it was the most stable.
The same runner may not always remain stable, those charts are only for the last 30secs of activity so just keep a eye on them and try and get in and out on the most stable ones.

Tried make market on master of song as price was level in the chart in one click area , but did not check how much money available on back and lay side for master of song as could not work out how to show more ladders than first 3 favs, worked it out now.
Practice mode £50 make market and the backed got matched instantly, but lay got matched only 3mins later about 10 secs before the off.
Greened and made £1.16 profit.
Any comments what i did right/wrong thanks

I getting better at it now lol.
Looked at lay and matched ladder amounts available and both about £200 so clicked make market after checking the chart was stable.
£50 make market bet in practice mode and greened up won £1.12.
Screenshot shows bet and the small amounts taken by several punters to get trade matched.
