I am curios to know whether anyone can shed some light onto how they think the markets will behave over the next 10 years.

I have heard that the markets have gone from scalpy to swingy. If thats the case.. I should imagine the will get so fast that it will be difficuilt to even get on the moves?
I can see it in the greyhounds with bots. The price stalls looks ready to reverse one price tick and boom it moves 10 ticks in less then a seconds and this is not large order this is something chasing the price.

Heres me thinking that in 2025 people will be saying how easy it was to trade 7/8 years ago comapared to today.

Depends on the government of the day in 2025.

You may find BF and other exchanges banned.

I cannot see that happening.

Infact If I was the government I would open a new exchange with profits being put back into racing.

Why? If anything, with the way the world/country is moving to the right, there will be even more deregulation.

I see 2025 having greatly increased volumes, maybe even from the US. Bot battles will be a regular thing and easy pickings for those ready to exploit them for value. Bots will never be able to assess a horse by looking at it in the way they can look at newsfeeds, fundamentals and fx rates.

The biggest difference I predict will be the introduction of more derivatives, as happened in the financial exchanges.

Why would a government be interested in helping racing? Maybe the BHB should open an exchange. I'd be in favour of a government exchange with profits going to the treasury, but then again I'd nationalise everything that could turn a profit. UK Plc.

Sorry let me re phrace tha the BHS to create an exchange. It would make far more money then the levy and what racecourses make from bookmakers if it managed to reach the same level as betfair.

When I heard Ladbrokes were buying Betdaq years ago, I always imanged that they would eventually turn there shops into exchanges. So you could go to one of those self help fobts and bet through an exhange with cash at the high street... but it turns out they only did it so they didnt take over and effect rip off bookmaking.

We might have WW3 before 2025 and most of us would probably be dead etc.

The bombs of today are 1,000 times more powerful than the one that was dropped in the 1940s.

If most US states are open to online gambling and exchanges by 2025 then I can see a good future ahead for exchanges, but who knows

I suspect one of PeterLees bots will have become self aware by then and taken over the world, we all will be plugged into the Matrix to provide the energy it requires for operation.
