to quote the article itself:
The article in question wrote: The trial, one of the first in Scotland since courts were given the power to enforce gambling debts, has been widely debated on social media, with many supporting Kinloch as a David against Goliath. There has also been some anger at Coral's barrister attacking the bettor for "trying to make a profit".
whereas, anyone betting goes in wit the intention of making a loss... lol

Corals and Ladbrokes have recently merged. Think parliament are due to publish its findings in FOBT in the spring this year, hopefully they will introduce new laws to limit the ways users can fund their stakes.

Most shops make more money from these than " normal betting", and the staff incentives to increase turnover on them or say sell the " coral connect card are excessive .

Hopefully we will see the demise of a lot of betting shops soon !!

Only time you'll ever see bookmakers close is if the Gambling Commission are forced to crack down on the use of FOBT's.

At the end of the day wether the guy had inside information or not. They took the bet, there is no deomotion policy in the football terms and conditions. They should pay it.

They were relagte its a simple as that.

Thats like Coral saying I cant pay you your winning bet on the 2.00 Doncaster because althought the original winner never weighed in and was disqualified your horse never finished first past the post.

Truly disgusting. The reason why they wont pay is because they are not bookmaking. If they were bookmaking a 2500/1 winner should stil make there book a profit... its clearly obvious they have not taken bets on the lower prices in the betting.

That's not true, because his reasoning behind placing the bet is perfectly valid. As traders, we all lay selections when we think a selection unlikely to win, and we all back bets when we think it could win. He hasn't played the system at all.

It's typical behaviour by the bookies, absolute tossers. They are simply moving the goalposts to avoid a huge payout

I had been in a dispute with Ladbrokes for two years. I even managed to get Judgement by Default. They very suprisingly managed to get the judgement set aside.. I couldnt get a pay out with ongoing court battle. I heard they were merging with Coral and the day there website ladbrokescoralplac.com went live on the 1st November last year I purchased ladbrokes-coarlplc.com and .co.uk.

Guess what I got my money pluss more by the 13th November.

Heres the letter, just scribled out my peronal info though

There was no inside info , the situation at Rangers was well known at the time. I'm no fan of bookmakers and would like to see the guy pull it off. But it's quite obvious Coral's struck the bet on the assumption Rangers would avoid relegation by getting enough points to stay up.

At the end of the day it'll come down to the judge's definition of relegation and even if that goes against Coral they'll no doubt try to palp it.

The bookies have to fight these cases because they will get a flood of legal action. They do it to deter others
