Just been cherry picking my moments, days like today I try and occupy myself with other stuff and just keep half a eye on the markets waiting for those right momentsHRacing wrote:How have you all found it today just out of curiosity.

Ive managed 5/10 so far and about 40p down overal.
Feb will be even worse, after that everything starts to pick up from march and Cheltenham and it will continue to get better through till JulyHRacing wrote:Seems very tricky, I think i will follow you dallas for the rest of the month, been a struggle since the turn of the year
Lesson iv still not learnt as iv never done a full calendar year. I seen Peter's video about seasonality but didnt really appreciate it until now.Dallas wrote:Feb will be even worse, after that everything starts to pick up from march and Cheltenham and it will continue to get better through till JulyHRacing wrote:Seems very tricky, I think i will follow you dallas for the rest of the month, been a struggle since the turn of the year

The week before and the week after Cheltenham is worse then Jan/Feb IMO. I only have 1 year to confirm this though

I got matched at 1.05 30 seconds into the 16.10 race at Newcastle?
Did anyone else get lucky?

I only started last month so I don't really know what you mean by getting better. Do you mean that liquidity will pick up and so markets will run smoother. At the moment I often see prices jumping and large gaps appear, great if your on the right side, not so good if your not.Dallas wrote: Feb will be even worse, after that everything starts to pick up from march and Cheltenham and it will continue to get better through till July
I can understand that if you are trading with largish stakes then you need to have enough liquidity to get into and more importantly out of the markets without too much difficult, is this what you mean by things getting better?

Brilliant day. 14/14 green. Starting to worry that my style suits a January Monday but won't suit the supposed 'good times ahead' .
Total turnover will start picking up each month from March onwards because of the quality of the summer racing compared to the relativly low grade AW and winter jumps races. You ll notice a change in the way markets behave as the jumps and AW come to an end and it moves into the flat turf season, typically in the summer markets the trends will be more prolonged and have more strength behind them compared to the winter meetings where its either low quality therefore volitile AW meetings or jumps meetings were often the moves happen very late usually in the final minute or two.Bluesky wrote:I only started last month so I don't really know what you mean by getting better. A bit off topic but where do you guys get your volume figures from? Do you record/log them yourselves or are they readily available backdated?Dallas wrote: This is last years pre-race and in-play traded volumes by month which should give you a idea of whats to come
