"golf is not a game of perfect, so neither is trading" - i need that stuck above my desk!
i agree that being taught by the best won't necessary make you the best (r.e. rembrandt teaching you how to paint) - but at least you know you gave it a bloody good shot, & failed with no regrets. i'd rather that, than die 'what if'.

Sometimes I think we start talking in riddles rather than straight replies for fear of revealing our edges but just end up confusing everyone, including ourselvesShaunWhite wrote:The more I thought about it, the more I understood what you meant between the lines.spreadbetting wrote: I don't think you misunderstood I just didn't phrase things too well

For me the problem I see with betting into efficient markets is that even if the stats show there is an 'edge' it's likely to be either short term or won't cover the spread let alone commission. So my approach is to only bot markets when I believe they're no longer behaving efficiently. For me that occurs most in running, obviously pre off markets can also behave inefficiently, simple examples being overbroke/overround markets, but in general they're harder to spot, and exploit, with a bot and usually nowhere as large as in runnning inefficiences.
