Hi All

I really struggle understanding the 'minus' and 'plus' ticks in the Relative Odds conditions.

What I am trying to do is allow a rule to trigger only if the back price is less than 3 ticks below the lay price.

So in a Relative Odds condition I have input

Back price
less than
Lay price
of Any Selection
minus 3 ticks

Is this correct, and why is there not an option to allow this condition for 'this selection'. Is there a better way of doing it?

Thanks for any advice...

Andy,

You should use Historic Relative Odds instead. Here's the typical approach:

Any Selection in this case refers to the current entity as an atomic whole (i.e. comparing like with like selection)

Many thanks Jim. Legend.

So the way you have set that up, it would only trigger if there was less than a three tick gap? I find the use of 'minus' and 'plus' confusing when discussing relative odds.

that's correct. if you wanted to have a gap of 3 or less, then of course, you'd set the ticks to 4 to allow a 3 tick gap to be valid. depending of course in how your mind worked, you could reverse the piece and say that the Lay Odds should be less than the Back price PLUS 3 ticks...

confusing!! - can be :D

Thanks Jim.

Yes, it is confusing. At least, for my little brain.

Thanks again
