Hello!

Could you suggest me a way for preventing my open positions to go inplay?

I make consistent profits at horse racing markets, but sometimes I get caught with my bets going inplay and it takes big chunks of profit. This is mostly because I get too carried away with trading (scalping).

I was thinking of using automation and make rule to green up all on post time, or making rule that will apply Take SP All Unmatched bets every second close to PT (like in this Peter Webb video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpWx0TRCCB4)

I have question about second one.
Scenario:
Lets say I got filled at 2 lay positions, @5 and @5.1 and I want to match them @5.2 and @5.3 (i got back stakes there waiting to be matched). If I automation was applied with Take SP on those positions. Lets say I get matched @5.2, leaving one open lay and I get caught inplay, is it going to just close that one position left with SP price?

I hope I make sense. If there are other ways, I would like to hear them.
Regards.

Any unmatched bets will be matched at SP when market goes in-play as long as a 'take SP' rule has triggered after your last bet or offset.
Their is a ready made bot in the shared files section to close and green at the off if you wanted to try that

Is it then bad idea to issue every bet with Take SP option?

No i do it the instant i submit every bet as a matter of precaution against outages etc - even once a bet it taken ill put a closing bet way outside the price (when swing trading) and take SP immedietly, even if Betfair suddently went down SP bets will still be reconciled at some point so you wont face a total loss
