Only you can really answer that.
I havent experienced a loss from a Betfair crash, but I have from a power cut. Lost by accidently clicking £1,000 stake. Twitchy fingers you name it.
It might be a good idea to organise a plan for every scenario possible.

IMO. Trading as it is can be very high risk. Not only do you have to have your emotions in check you have to deal with poor markets and days were you cannot do anything right, with that aside.

This might help you as the only way you should be losing is from a controlled loss you have chosen.

Have you got a Betdaq account?
Have you got a back up mouse?
WHat about back up internt?
What will you do if your pc crashes?

What wil you do if someone chucks 50k in the market and wants it matched 20 seconds until post.

Having a plan is one thing, but for me I have a little card I read everyday that not only tells me the pain it caused lst time. I rehearse in my head on what to do. I do it every day.

You may have a back up plan but still fail to act on it. Well for me anyway.

Might not need to go to these extremes but for me I have.

after so many months & so many weeks this week I've had my best ever week only to get raped to the best part of £700 with the outage, have to ask myself is this really worth it?
So your exposure to technology risk is many months of profit? Wow. Trading is all about risk management. That doesn't just mean stuff like market volatility.

Sadly, if you operate a technology based business (or pastime) you have to expect and prepare for technology outages and their cost. It sounds harsh but it's true. Tech is a huge liability, always was, always will be.

Losses are just unavoidable operating costs like a bill from hmrc or accounting fees so minimise their impact with a solid disaster recovery strategy. BF profit is gross profit, it's the net profit that goes in your pocket.

Can someone explain why it is that people will spend countless hours studying football, horses and markets but won't spend 5 minutes on a DR plan? Maybe it's because it's dull and boring and they just want to do the fun bits.

I think that is exactly right and being unprepared is something I'm guilty of! Luckily I wasn't in the 15.00 market but I remember I traded the first race at Fremington on Cup day and I needed to use a bookie to get out (no BD on Aus racing) so I lost a fair chunk there but even if the loss is quite big, you always need to hedge as there was quite a bit of time before the off for people to do so yesterday wasn't there?

This is why I would never pay for patternform. At-least 1-2 horses in every race run in a different pace position then there supposed to. Its usually the winner too.
Horses generally have a preferred running style and trainers take advantage of this. Some horses just cannot win running in a different race position.
If a horse can win in various positions held up and led..assuming nothing abnormal about the results, its usually a graded level horse.

Looking at the horses dam you can get a rough idea on how they like to run. Same as the going. I wont £10,000 on an accumulator not too long a go. Good to firm ground. With heavy rain forecast. Went for all the best heavy/soft going dams.
People waste time on sire stats. Its the dam that has more reliability.

4.00 Huntingdon.

Cyclop - Currently priced 3.75

Think theres a gamble going down and I think the horse will lead.
No real reason to suggest it will lead looking at pace figures but I think It will run in the frst 2 of the pace. I think it will go off about 2.5 (6/4 favourite).

Trainers only entry today. Jockey Aaiden Coleman won it before but hasnt ridden it in a long time.

The horse has drifted in the betting for its last 9 consective starts. This horse wants to run from the front and there has been a little money for it already.

Steamer!!!

Someone has a lost some money in the French races assuming it hasn't been done on purpose, at least two horses have 2k+ matched at 2 in every race.

Rules says it is a 4 places market. How will Betfair settle this market?

Re Cyclops

Horse made all when it won at Auteuil as as a juvenile and it's 2 Wins in this country came when it raced " handy or prominently

The race has cut up with 4 withdrawals and Court Frontier will almost certainly be held up. Wood Yer likes to race prominently but comes on and off the bridal but stays well

Huntingdon is a course which suits front runners so every reason given the profile of his wins that Cyclops will race prominently

Well tipped up today
