hi
currently using wifi but want simple straightforward way to set up wired network as i am getting signal problems in that i lose the connection on occasion. Anybody have any recommendations

If your broadband router is in the same room as your computer then an ethernet cable is all you need between the two. If it isn't, as is the case for me, then I've found that 'PowerLine' or 'HomePlug' networking is the way to go. This utilises your mains wiring to transfer the data, and much faster than wifi.
