Dr Robin steps back up in trip after a disastrous drop back in trip LTO. I am not sure why they did that but it clearly didn't work too well!
He is a decent front runner and I feel he will go close here. Another thing in my mind is the 2nd fav Altiepix who seems a bit on the skinny side at 3.5. He's changed stables but prior form is all on a RH track with 4 wins and 6 places from 16 runs. It could be that the previous trainer just happened to favour that type of track but it was Gordon Elliott and he's pretty shrewd and the form is 1 place from 4 runs. When you also consider the horse appears to perform more on better ground there is a lot too ponder hence my concern at the price.
Anyway, we need Dr Robin to bowl along for the price to contract, as opposed to winning, which would be a bonus, . I have read some of the press today and there is some emphasis being put on Altiepix benefiting from a change of headgear which further builds the conundrum.
One word of caution. This horse is not a superstar and it's highly unlikely he will win this on the bridle. I am sure he will require some cajoling and persuading at the business end so if that worries you I would grab an early contraction. He does respond to pressure so even a cheeky bet at 50+ for £2 could offer a decent return!
Small stakes and enjoy

Ironically, I am having my annual health MOT at the Doctor's this afternoon so will probably miss this market. Bets placed already!

I couldn't understand the money for Altiepix but I also didn't think it would pull up closely followed by Dr Robin.
I'll get my coat!

Race won by Howlongisafoot trained by Chris Gordon, who has now had 10 winners from his last 15 runners ( 4 today ) Another example of when a small stable hits form it often pays to follow them
Stable form or lack of it does influence a horses price
Stable form or lack of it does influence a horses price
I would nt reach for it just yet

No disrespect Halliday but I fail to see how this helps? I notice you are a brilliant after timer and love to mention what has happened but offer nothing beforehand. How did winners stable form influence the price of Alitepix?
How about you offer a positive post BEFORE the race?

Thank goodness I am not the only one who thinks this!!!

Of course but hindsight is something I lack. Had I known Chris Gordon was going to hit a purple patch and could probably win with the stable's cat I could have won a fortune. Yes, his horses have been running well but howlongisafoot has run 6 times on soft and managed just one place!
It has already been said but why not say something before the race? I have no qualms about someone disagreeing with me!
Think you and DannyD are overreacting a tad here ... was not in anyway being critical of you JG ( your one of my all time fav posters ) Just getting on my pet subject of trainerfomdannyd wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2017 4:33 pmNo disrespect Halliday but I fail to see how this helps? Re offering nothing beforehand . Please read my views on Nigel Hawke's runner in the first at Sandown on Saturday ( in today's racing ) posted well before the off. And again related to trainerform
Can't quite understand your sarcasm JG ... just pointing out how trainerform does play a big part in the price of a horse and how it performs
DannyD .. if you would like my views in some of the big handicaps at Cheltenham over the next few days . I would be happy to oblige. Before the off of course ( no sarcasm intended)
Once again apologies to those of you with a fragile nature !!
Enjoy your trading !!

Hmm, they do have a point I am afraid. Even when Tactical Manoeuvre was beaten at Taunton you replied with a steward's report about it having bled from the nose. There was no positive comment offered just "this may still have it's day"
Now if you are genuine then fair enough but I would welcome comments before the event as opposed to after and then perhaps everyone would get some benefit.

Re Tactical Manouervre .. again posted the stewards report as it is important to understand that sometimes there are reasons why a horse runs badly .. or indeed shows improved form ( wind op , blinkers first time etc ).
Knowing it's bled is important and many would avoid the horse the next few runs in case it happens agsin .. how many who read your thread knew it had bled, hence its poor showing
Why wouldn't you want posters to know the possible reason for its poor showing ?
And was being positive in steering posters towards the BHA website and the information in the stewards report .. full of useful information and data
It is important ..
Not always easy to post before the event ..as some of do actually work as well as trade
I guess that's one of the vagaries of posting on forums ..
If you think I'm stepping into territory that's is yours .. then again I apologise
