Hi guys,
I am absolutely new here or on betting but I have some time and... who knows I will give it a try.
I am interested in horse races - I bought betangel professional.
My first q is if can I play with some fake money?
Does this feature exists in betangel?
I am little reluctant to start betting with real money without knowing what I am doing and the tutorials looks like it will take a while until I will be able to put a bet as I want.
Cheers
Can I trade with fake money?
>> No, you can't
That is horrible.
You can play with 2 stakes but this wont allow you to test bigger systems.
I heard that there are systems that allows you to do that... I thought this is the best...
That would have been the best way to learn.
Is there a will to implement this in the near future?
Or does somebody know any betting software that allows you to bet on fake money?
That is the worst news this in this month I think.

If your uncertain of a trade i just say to myself "ok if i had put money here lets see where it goes" Same effect really, although you have to do the maths yourself

You can lose £1998.00 with a £2 stake.
Who in their right mind would use a bank of £2k though when they are justing starting out?

Part of trading is timing, judging fill rate, exposure, how prices are moving. You only get a feel for that by actually being in the market. Nothing can substitute that in my opinion. OK it's nice to not feel you have anything at risk but as soon as you step into the market that feeling will overwhelm you. You have to get used to it at some point.
I understand your point.
But can we have it?
I understand that is not the same but this is you worrying about what will be better for us - and forcing us to complay to your opinion.
I think you should inform us what could be better for us but let us choose - give us the optioin and I am absolutelly 100% evribldy will take it.
I think you already have this feature for development so maiking it available for new commers will bring
+ 10 happines to them.

I think the point is being missed. Why simulate the market? What is needed is the real market with fake money. Logging in to an account with fake money is all that is needed. Would betfair, for a small price, allow and enable such a thing.Bet Angel wrote:Part of trading is timing, judging fill rate, exposure, how prices are moving. Dont fake or simulate the markets, just fake the account.

I am new yesterday, trialing BA too, I am very experienced in Betfair, Horse Racing gambling and I have my own sophisticated software that I wrote which interfaces with the Betfair API but has a completely different strategy to BA. I have yet to get to grips with 'trading' as opposed to the riskier betting. I have already lost my first deposit quickly 'playing' with the settings because I didn't know what was going on. I too am a bit relectant to throw more 'real' money at it until I understand whats happening but it seems to be the only way to get to grips. There is absolutely no doubt that some kind of simulator would be a better method for us newbies. I have tried reading the BA Professional user manual (needs to be re-written by a proper Technical writer) and (so far) the videos on Youtube don't explain enough detail, plus the screen is blurred and the sound is poor. Its early days, I will try to give it a fair trial but I could do with better information and a simulator..
I can empathise and easily see why people ask for simulators but they just don't work and you will spend of lot of time practicing something that you can't put to use in the market.
The only way you can simulate is to take a price and that, as a strategy, puts you right up against it immediately from a trading viewpoint. Even then, you still have issues with fill and match rates that you can't simulate properly. If you were profitable on a simulation it is highly unlikely to translate into reality but it is more likely you would lose money at a faster rate in a simulation because you can't take advantage of more positive positions that are available in the market.
In short there is no substitution for actual involvement in the market. Even with £2 minimum stakes you should learn a lot about how the market works and no simulation can replicate that. I fully understand why people ask for them but it just doesn't work very effectively.
