Really impressive. I had 5 losing Markets all week but I was much more selective Thurs and today and missed a market on both days as I really didnt have a clue on what to do. Two of them on the first two days were quite embarrassing losses really.
Do you trade simultaneous on both or different trades?
I found it much easier say scalping on Betdaq but being on bit of a move on betfair on separate runners.
Trading them both the same is quite a skill.
Y, I trade both at the same time. Often one 'feels' better than the other so I switch focus to that one while trying to keep on top of the other. It's tough, so I only really do it on the big races or meetings. I've got good at it now, but it's very intense.SeaHorseRacing wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2017 8:14 pmDo you trade simultaneous on both or different trades?

Well you've eaten resonably well the rest of the week so you aint going to starve just yetoscar123 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2017 5:51 pmNo caviar and lobster for me tonight, more of a tuna from a can type day here.
Went 6/7 on Betdaq, though no real decent results, so only ended up with a modest profit. Ended up with a small loss on betfair, mainly due to the last race going from £40 green to £40 red in what seemed like the blink of an eye. Had that happen to me a couple of times this week. So only a tiny profit overall for today.
A very enjoyable weeks trading though, and I hope I have learnt plenty again ready for next year. Looking forward to Aintree, then straight on to the flat season.Overall, a good weeks trading.

If Cheltenham has whetted peoples' appetites for what's to come, here's a spreadsheet of all meetings for the year ahead, with the major festivals/races noted in a seperate column. Someone out there might find it handy.

That's useful, thanks for sharing, Shaun.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2017 3:22 amIf Cheltenham has whetted peoples' appetites for what's to come, here's a spreadsheet of all meetings for the year ahead, with the major festivals/races noted in a seperate column. That was my first Cheltenham.
I did try and trade BD & BF together but that was too much for me so I quickly gave up on that idea.
I had my best ever week, I was consistent with directional scalping although I pretty much avoided the short prices favs as they are still too volatile for me/my liking.
I feel I learned a lot about trading this festival, I was always offering to the market and missed out on getting filled narrowly on countless occasions before the price moved. I would imagine that if next year is similar I will just have to get on the move a bit more sharply. Due to me mostly avoiding short priced favs I didn't get many trades through a market but bigger stakes (for me) countered that.
I also noticed that bloody bot(s) kicking in with huge spikes around 4.30-5.00 mins out on the last couple of days.
I too got caught badly on the 1650 on Thurs costing me £120, the good thing is that I'm cutting out rather than going in play, saying that, this thing bounced all the way back right before the off and would've added to the profitable trade but still, I'm happy with the choice I made.
I found it bloody stressful though and very intense for a long time due to how long I had to hold positions. I'm still not sure I'm cut out to be a trader, I still losing since I started in October 2016 but hoping this may be the turning point although I won't get carried away as I'm expecting next week to be very flat.
Nice to see so many doing so well.

To be honest I think that is very impressive with a 1k bank.davedragon wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2017 6:03 pmThat last market was my fave all week just nice and smooth not the biggest profit but this is how I thought the markets would be all week. I think there may have been fewer traders in that last race as I managed to turn over more money, maybe too many traders was why I found this week a bit of a struggle and why things sometimes were over exaggerated when the prices moved?
Will definitely be looking at using Betdaq next big meeting. On the gold cup there was just too much dead money for me to get much through - I only have a 1k bank so had to keep moving stakes around.
I think the secret to these markets is to have loads of stakes scattered around outside the prices then you have an easy scalp as you are first in the queue and also get to profit from the spikes, however this is not ideal for my small bank.
I was just starting to get the hang of these high volume markets too little too late really but will be ready for next year hopefully with a larger trading bank
Nice one, many thanks!ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2017 3:22 amIf Cheltenham has whetted peoples' appetites for what's to come, here's a spreadsheet of all meetings for the year ahead, with the major festivals/races noted in a seperate column. Someone out there might find it handy.
