The Betfair odds are:

Germany to win - 2.96
England to win - 2.78
Draw - 3.2

How will you guys be betting or laying?

Personally, I think I'll sit this one out, as you never know what you're going to get from England!

I can't help but think that England are favorites to win this match the same way they were 3rd favorites for the competition....naivety. I never trade if i have any emotional interest in a match however....so im well out of this one

I will be taking the day off and enjoying what should be the hottest day of the year :!:

The TV will be outside with a morning showing of England's 5-1 win over Germany followed by a BBQ and Beers then the game and then more food on the BBQ and Beers around the fire pit celebrating another 5-1 victory ;)

I think you mean 1-5, although 5-1 wouldn't entirely surprise me! :)

As a neutral observer (living in NZ with Scottish roots), I have no hesitation at all unloading a big big sum on Germany to win. Sorry guys. England are gone.

Surely betfair is more international now and patriotic money is less likely to dictate markets then before?

Im not sure how many germans use betfair but there are surely alot of germans who bet and will back their country on the betting markets. Since it is a much bigger country then england.

Sure england were underpriced to beat usa and algeria but thats more due to the gulf between the countrys. I believe england are slight favorites to beat germany for the fact they actually do have a better and more experienced team then them.

It's more that the English just annoy me.
Failing an outright win for Germany, I predict a draw, extra time, then a penalty shootout, with England missing a penalty.

Here are my current 'big plunges' pending:

Argentina to win World Cup tournament
Murray to win Wimbledon tournament
Germany to beat England

Of course I may trade out before the end. All these are green so far (prices have shortened). Let's see how I go.

I would say that a very good measure of a player's quality is how much money they command. I bet that, if you compared the average earnings of England's team with that of Germany's (or probably any other country's), we would come out on top. All our lads play in the Premiership, which is the strongest league in the world and which attracts the world's best players. Our defence has two world class players (Ashley Cole and Terry), ditto the midfield (Lampard and Gerrard). And upfront, it's not for nothing that Rooney is nicknamed the White Pele...

So on paper, I would therefore say we are the best side. Whether that will translate on Sunday into a world class performance is another matter! As Slovakia showed yesterday, playing with the right attitude can trump silky ball skills!

I'm obviously biased so I can't nail something on this one, but when I knew that we would meet the Germans my phone started ringing and people wanted prices. I proposed that it would be priced as a low scoring match with no particular advantage to either side and therefore all odds would be split. The draw would be above threes and the the two teams would be priced in a similar manner.

As it turns out the market has priced a slight advantage to England which I am not sure is true. But I think the rest stands. One goal to either side would probably be enough.

The other thing I did was look up odds on variations revolving around penalties, because I sense it's a case of here we go again! I'd prefer to not be optimistic on an England win and then its all upside from there. But that's speaking from an emotional perspective, not a stats perspective!

Have to say I have marked the Germans down since that performance against the Aussies, which looks like an abberation now.

Since unloading everything on Dunguib for the Supreme and 'loading up on Tricky Trickster' for the National you must have deep pockets Zenyatta and I admire you for coming back for more.

On your previous selections and results as an Englishman I was awaiting your confirmation so England are banker material now to beat the Germans.

I am off for a golfing weekend treat with the boys before watching the game - I won't have any nerves re the result now.

Oh well, that's it then, the English players probably shouldn't bother turning up tomorrow if "Paul's" prediction is correct.
