Hi Euler,
I have one specific and one general question if you don't mind, no rush for an answer.
1 On your latest 'My Cheltenham Secret' Youtube vid, what do you have running on your lower left monitor? It looks from a distance like custom software for showing files from your archive of BF Price/Vol .png's ?
2.That make me think, trade secrets excluded of course, what does your setup look like beyond your desk?
What other PC's do you have recording screens, running automation, or running tests. Do you have individual setups running processes for different sports? And what kinds of data capture are you doing (any and all I guess)? I assume you run a lot of custom software for catching and archiving data and things like the BF .png's Your setup must be pretty slick otherwise it would be a fulltime job just keeping all the different plates spinning. The same must be true of how you capture, store and analyse your transaction data.
It's a big question but it's come about because as I gradually increase the number of processes I'm running, the data I'm catching and analysing, and building features in my 'back-end' software for BA, the more I see the importance of making all these things as slick as possible otherwise the setup, eod organising and data mining becomes a real chore. Do you have 'people' who keep your core stuff setup and running?
Sorry it's a long one, as I said above, answer when you have the time becuase I suspect there's quite a lot going on behind the scenes.
Thanks
A question for Euler about your setup

This has had 113 views....so i'll give it a gentle bump in case the main man didn't see it when it was a fresh posting.

haha, I agree with that but I'd change it to: "(anyone better then me) is like a make love**** hero to me, and that's what keeps me still trading and learning everything i can about these markets.

Sorry, ya ya ya i know! lol I edited the post.. I hate this Mac OS spell checker!ruthlessimon wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2017 9:25 pmhaha, I agree with that but I'd change it to: "(anyone better then me) is like a make love**** hero to me, and that's what keeps me still trading and learning everything i can about these markets."

Let's get back to the thread! lol

One of my favourite episodes, absolutely hilarious.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2017 2:30 amDid this remind anyone of the episode of I'm Alan Partridge when he meets an obsessive superfan ?
Thanks for the love
I often miss threads so thanks for bumping.
1. It was just explorer pointing at a load of historical charts. I review everything each day or after a big meeting to see if I missed something or could have done better.
2. All the above. I collect masses of data and run some automation that just places random bets in the market. I did this when I first started and continue it to this day. It gives me deeper data other than just price movement in the market. I'll often not use some of the data I collect but can return to it, to solve specific problems in the future.
I monitor loads of things about the market and export it, mainly using Bet Angel and archive it rigorously. It's time-consuming but has allowed me to evolve over time.
I tend to gather data, try and explain it in its simplest form then move it forward to implement it in a strategy. Doing that allows me to explain most things that happened or are likely to happen in a market.
There is still a certain amount of entropy in the market, but if your strategy takes that into account then that's fine. You can only work with the things you know and it's generally not worth worrying about things you have no control over.

Hi Euler
Would be great if you could expand on how you collect this data and what sort of time frames you collect ie is it from the start of the market the night before, the morning before, last 10 minutes etc.
I think for us 'younger' traders, it's inspiring to see that even though you've traded the markets for over 16 years now, you still take the time to try and improve.

OK. It's my topic so I'll have 1st dibs at a question.
I've a feeling you might curse me for starting this topic so I'll get one in quick.
Is there an easy way to collect those BF graph .png files? Surely you don't manually collect each one.
