What range/size stakes were you using?dragontrades wrote: ↑Sat Apr 08, 2017 10:32 pmWhen something goes badly wrong on one race don't panic stick to your edge and you will come out the other end.
Not long ago if I had a loss like that I would have to have the rest of the day off because my head would be gone.
Could have been a really sweet day, the big loss was a £30 green and I had a lot of stakes on this runner away from the price and the video was delayed, though it was perfect on every other race so I felt comfortable trading close to the off but got caught out being matched against SP and others just kept jumping in front as I was trying to get the stake out In running

Im as sceptical as the next person when i see P/L's on social media etc from people i dont know or that are unverified so take them all with a pinch of salt, but there are a handful of traders including Peter who have a high enough profile that publically stating anything but the truth would be suicidal.
Do you really belive Betfair would have a relationship with any of these traders and in Peters case ask him to trade live for them if they were seen and known to be posting anything but factual statements?
TBH users who are completly new to the industry i can understand not knowing who to fully trust but for anyone who has been doing this for any period of time i can never work out for the life of me how or why they doubt these handful of high profile traders

Also Peter has been calling for sometime that some sort of verification should be brought in by Betfair so people can do a check and can be fully aware of someones credentials which is not the sort of thing you would be asking for if you had anything to hide - though i suspect far more people would nt want to see such a thing (no names mentioned)

That would be fantastic. I'll grab a big bag of popcorn if that day ever arrives.Dallas wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2017 2:03 pmIm as sceptical as the next person when i see P/L's on social media etc from people i dont know or that are unverified so take them all with a pinch of salt, but there are a handful of traders including Peter who have a high enough profile that publically stating anything but the truth would be suicidal.

Back to todays racing: Lots of low odds favs in the UK today

I am not doubting. I told someone that i read before somewhere (or heard it on a youtube video) that betfair will proof your P/L before inviting you to become a betfair educator ( or something like that). He asked me for evidence, I googled the whole morning but can't find it again.
Thats why i am asking.

Hardly insane as he was right, now if it was a evens bookies shot yet 3+ exchanges would be worth flagging. Like Wolves last night 9.20 Top Of The Bank 5/2 on course fav yet 6.81 BSP

Shows plenty of bookies are just exchange traders as i'm sure plenty shoving it back on

Doubt they would take that much between them midweek so poorly attended lol, but easy pickings drunk folk Saturday night, the type that have absolutely no idea of odds like my missus

I am tired of the number of times I hear/read this absolute shit.
If its so easy to become a bookie etc ..
Just make sure, u have a lazy 10k, for the equipment, 10k for an average pitch (per racecourse), then, work in, your daily expenses are
200 quid+, to maybe take 4000, at 10% margin, on a shitty meeting.
A top 3 pitch at Wolvo, costs 25k .. to take, even on a friday night, 3-4k, if u are aggressive. The industry needs 5 bookies present, to return
an industry sp .. often, they are literally begged to be there, or there will be industry issues. Bookies dont want to not go, cos they hate money.
They dont want to go, becos its shit.
If u have 7 men and a dog in front of u, who couldnt raise 300 quid between them if u shook them upside down, it doesnt matter if u put the fav
at 5/2, or 4/1 .. no one cares.
