I remember reading about people being banned for using practice mode too much (I imagine due to consuming data without placing any real bets) - does anyone know what the quantity is before betfair take action? I'd like to test out some strategies but not sure to what extent I should be placing real money through to prevent this! Or has this not even happened to people in recent times?

I've not gone down the automation testing route but I'd imagine if you carry out some trading (manual or automated) with £2 stakes, that should give you some protection.
As always, I'm sure there will be some other advice along shortly.

Hi,
One thing I do know is that if you go over 1,000 transactions per hour in test mode without placing any real bets, you get a warning email. Do it again and your account gets suspended.
It happened to me back in November 2016.
