Funny you should say that. The 25/1 winner was called Palace Moon!LinusP wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2017 7:26 pmWas it a full moon?SeaHorseRacing wrote: ↑Sun May 14, 2017 10:36 pmWhen frankel won the lockinge a few years back I spent the best part of 5 hours a day for 3/4 fays to study the cards and entries for Newbury and I picked every winner including a 25/1 shot...
It was two days before the new moon. New moon is more powerful in terms of influence on horses.

For anyone who really thinks I am crazy take a look at the stats for yourself.
To simplify the results all I have done is looked at the winner from each race and taken note of the horses d.ob.
With the horses date of birth I have assigned it to the closet match of the following of new moon, 1st Quarter, Full moon and 2nd Quater.
So if a horse was born 2 days before the new moon I have assigned it as the new moon. To keep this really simple I have matched one moon phase that is closest to the winners birthday.
I have chosen Cheltenham because the runners are all trying and it relates less noise.
As you can see there is a 1 in 4 chance of matching. So each horse will be born around a certain moon phase.
For anyone who thinks I am crackers take a look at the results.
Chetlenham Festival winners 2017
Tuesday:
Race 1: 2nd Quarter
Race 2: 2nd Quarter
Race 3: 2nd Quarter
Race 4: 1st Quarter
Race 5: New Moon
Race 6: New Moon
Race 7: 1st Quarter
Wednesday:
Race 1:1st Quarter
Race 2: New Moon
Race 3: Full Moon
Race 4: 1st Quarter ( Beaten Douvan 2nd Quarter)
Race 5: 1st Quarter
Race 6: 1st Quarter
Race 7: New Moon
Thursday:
Race 1: 1st Quarter
Race 2: New Moon
Race 3: New Moon
Race 4: New Moon
Race 5: 1st Quarter
Race 6: Full Moon
Race 7: New Moon
Friday:
Race 1: New Moon
Race 2: Full Moon
Race 3: Full Moon
Race 4: New Moon
Race 5: Full Moon
Race 6: 1st Quarter
Race 7: 2nd
As you can see above my belief is the reason why Douvan ran such a poor race and injured himself during the race is a reflection of possibly the effect the moon can have on a horse. I believe that because of the moon phase favoured on the Wednesday of Cheltenham 2nd quarter born horses were so up against it they could be at risk and do not run to form.
Look how strong Thursday and Friday was starting with New moon and ending with Full moons.
I stand by it and if there was another days racing on the Saturday at Chetlenham most of the winners would have been 1st and 2nd Quarter born horses. You can see the change at the end of the Friday.
This is not an exact science because a superior horse will and can still beat any horse on any day. But the moon does have an effect on race and it does move in waves.
As you can see above over a period of four days it wavered to favouring certain moon phases to not favouring. If you check well fancied horse beaten alot of them were not favoured to the current moon wave of results.
If anyone is interested go and check previous years at Cheltenham. These are just this years and this is not the strongest set of results.
It works all year round.
Using the moon you predict which horses will be favoured and which wont.
