Hi,
I am well aware of the LTF strategy, which can be profitable on certain race types/venues etc.
However, i often wonder what is the best price to use. Often people will use a very low figure (below 2) to limit the liabilities if things don't go well and only one horse is matched.
Therefore, has anyone thought of doing something totally mad and looked into the following idea:
1. Note down the lowest traded price for the favourite prior to the start.
2. When the race turns in-play lay the entire field for the price above.
Any thoughts ?
Cheers,
Lay the field
Hi,
I have tried various prices over the years and funnily enough I was laying the field yesterday @ 3.0 and 4.0 and 5.0 with > 9 runners and noticed I would get 4 matched when I layed at 4.0 and 5 matched when I laid at 5.0.
I am not a big fan of this method as you are at the mercy of the gods!!!!
I see many postings on Youtube on this subject which I feel now are outdated and to me I think the market and traders have got more savvy plus high speed links are making a a large impact on this strategy.
This is just my opinon.
Thanks,
Mark.

Did you ever look at it in conjunction with the following....mhorro wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2017 6:42 amHi,

I did this yesterday for fun using a 10% liability of a £100 stake pot.
Profit was £130 - some 130%
It did help that the 1850 at Southwell was a 3-horse race with a 1.09 favourite that lost.
Trouble was I couldn't find an easy way to automate this system so it's very labour intensive for what should be a set up and leave type day of betting. I guess there is something in it - need to analyse a few week's results.

The OP's approach - as dirty and basic as you like
I had a Lay All at 3 seconds after the off rule and just changed the price 30 seconds before the off
Liability was 10% of a £100 for every race.
I'd probably give it a longer run if it were possible to easily change that price pre-off based on the SP of the favourite - TBF it was fun willing horses to get backed but I think the system is doomed to failure in the long run.

Today is going to be a LTF day.
22 short races but not all qualify.
1. No odds on favourites (Ideally >= 4 on BF)
2. More than 8 runners
So, given the rules probably around 16 worth looking at.
Dont spend the rent, mortgage or beer money.
Usually I will lay them at 1.90, 1.80, 1.70, 1.60, 1.50, 1.40, 1.30, 1.20 and 1.10
Goodluck.
PS. Sometimes I will look at the races where the favourite is > 3 too.
