Hi. This is in relation to scalping on Horseracing:

I've successfully created an Automated Rules file that will create a back bet with an offset lay bet and greening.

But what I really want to do is manually enter a back bet which, as it's matched either partially or fully, creates a lay bet automatically.

Have had a good look through using Automation, also through this forum and can't find how to do this.
Anyone help please? Indeed, is it possible?

I'm a newbie, so please be gentle... :)

You part answered your own question, the feature your looking for is called 'offsetting'

Thanks for the answer, much appreciated.
I did read those topics before posting. As far as I can see, they only apply when you're automatically placing the first bet too.

I want to manually place the initial bet, then have the offset bet placed automatically by Bet Angel when my initial bet is partly or fully matched.

Still can't work that out, from what I've read.

Not sure why you thought it only works if you place the first bet automatically - its one of the most used features by manual traders

"Offsetting is simply when Bet Angel places your closing/opposing bet into the market for you automatically, if you place a back bet the lay bet is placed for you"

The video tutorials in the links i posted show this being done

Thanks for your patience. I'll go and watch the videos again. I thought they showed that the lay bet was placed immediately the back bet was entered, rather than matched. Which isn't what I'm looking for as per my original post.
Back to the videos!

David, As Dallas has said it is all in the manual and getting your opposing bet in automatically when and where you want it is covered but perhaps not completely obvious when your starting out. It sounds to me that the feature you are after is the offset bet with the fill or kill option selected on the one-click screen (you select the number of ticks for the offset and the number of seconds for the bet to be killed if unmatched - this can be as many as 99999 seconds if you require)

Thanks for your help, Dallas and Jukebox.

No Automation needed to achieve what I wanted.
Just select bet type of Offset bet with greening. And tick 'Place fill or kill bets' - with a decent seconds delay value.
When I now click, for example for a back bet, when it's filled the lay bet appears. :)
