Who says trading dogs is a waste of time?

We've gone to the dogs.

This is exactly what I'm trying. I've been using 1 instance though. I think I'll open a few and run slight variations.
1. Take a screenshot of the odds at 5 mins, 4 mins, 3 mins, 2 mins, 1 mins, 30 seconds.
2. Take note of how the book percentages changed over these timeframes.
3. Then goto the racingpost and see what it said about the race before and after.

From the three points above you should be able to workout which selections odds shortened and why. Then you can start to formulate a strategy and finally automate it.
Cheers for the heads up😊
A word of warning though.

Apart from races in the evening, liquidity on the greyhounds is patchy and often very low. This is why you see the odds jumping about all over the place until the final 30 seconds or so.

The more people that come up with a successful strategy the lower the liquidity will get until it becomes almost non existent. This will certainly lead to them only being traded in the final seconds, which is extremely dangerous as races can start upto 35 seconds before the scheduled start time, leaving you up a river without a paddle.

I got caught out at Swindon last summer when a race went off 38 seconds early.

Betfair now seems to offer SP in most markets. So I'm taking bets to SP to avoid any catastrophes.

I used to experience a "LOT" of dog races that appeared to start early (20 to 30 secs early was very common)
however having changed the PC power & sleep settings (windows 10) to "Sleep = Never", the incidence of this happening has fallen dramatically....

==> I'm really not sure if this has fixed a problem with my setup but it may be worth looking into if you are experiencing issues.... Think I covered about 20 races yesterday and no start time issues at all... (if anything quite a few went off late)...

I monitor start times so I can check.

My greyhound trading bot currently has 9 triggers and 73 conditions.

Seems to be holding its own and doing better during evening racing.

Have decided to ignore Swindon as there start times seem to be all over the place. Suspending a race 42 seconds before the scheduled start is not funny when trying to automate trading. :o

Mission Impossible completed. :o

Think I have now fully converted my Trading Bot over to Bet Angel.

Refined it down to 10 triggers and 47 conditions. Should be OK on all pre-off markets and not just the doggies. :D

Haha if only

In the middle of trying to get a semi decent automation setup for the dogs. Doesn't always green/red up though. So its hard to keep track of p&l in demo mode

Nice Memphis! What sort of profit/loss are you looking at for the past month or two?
