Hi all,

I am manually 'trading' using a very simple dutching method. In a nutshell, I am selecting races with 9-12 horses where I am dutching all but the last horse. Typically this represents a 96% book percentage.

I want to know if Bet Angel can automate my manual process which is:

1 - Find the race (9-12 runners)
2 - Dutch all but the last horse, typically 10mins or less before the start of race
3 - Book percentage from 96% (meaning not dutching at a loss)
4 - Stop loss if half the stake is losing, so if dutching £50 and the race/trade is heading towards a loss of £25 - then trade out

I've tried various setups myself but cant get it to work. Hopefully someone can talk me through it or create a .baf file. Either way, am grateful for any help.

Have you compared your dutching strategy to simply laying your "last horse"?

How has it worked out manually?

Hi,

Just over two weeks' using this method and in profit. Thanks to Bet Angel, if there is chance a horse we least expect to win starts to look like a winner, we can 'get out' before we lose the stake completely.

As requested, an automation of this would save me the time of having to sit at the screen during the races.

If the profit is the same, then I would be open to that also. My MAX stake/liability is £500 per dutch (..or now lay).

I hadn't really thought about laying but if the result is the same, then that perhaps is a good option.

My manual mode of dutching though, does enable me to rule out not only the last horse but other close to it.

Example, if the last horse is back 120, then I'd exclude that. Also, I'd exclude the other close to if if there were say 90, 70 etc... When I manually dutch as originally described, I tend to look at race where there is a strong(er) favourite and and obvious loser.

Perhaps my dutching method has too many variables to automate, though your suggested lay option does offer some consideration.

I strongly recommend backtesting this...
