Hmm. It seems as if whenever I try to not let the market shake me out of a couple of ticks it takes many more.

oh ok thank you....what about weight of money?? any info on that
thanks

it's all to do with pressure of money or order flow, however don't forget that money queued up in the ladder could be spoof & I'm think I'm right in saying XM (cross matching "money" on offer across the book..), the weight of money will be < 50% if there is more money waiting to be matched on the lay side of the selection than on the back side.

It will be > 50% if there is more money waiting to be matched on the back side of the selection than on the lay side.

Matching customers bets is what Betfair does. When there is a bet request with Cross-matching, Betfair looks at all the customer bet requests it could be matched against, not just opposing bets on the same selection.

So WOM is a not just real money, (I think), see:

Started off very well then got thrown all over the place, very disappointed with myself.. got on several moves with what I thought was a run then got whip sawed a few times, pretty much on handicaps tempting me to back under 3.00, around 2.65 & above on a downward trend, money went through the middle on the run then 'wham'.. ripped right back towards 3.00 & slightly above.

Can anyone give me any clues as how not to fall for such a false move?, when seemingly it was the correct position to open?

.. didn't help with deaf knob head next door playing drum & bass loud, & he's nearly 50, go figure?

The 'lonely the brave' one a little obvious, to me anyways. The late lay on 'Ancient astronaut' i bet a fair few got caught out on that one.

I'm not convinced it is all manipulation, they seemed quite happy to have plenty of that 30 grand lay matched in the 3:40, and moved it up to do so ....and it duly lost.

Magic Approach, and so it was. That one's antics won't be too hard to remember for the future with a name like that.
