Just ran the numbers for the same day last year, average turnover was £500k per race, £1m for the group race

Really odd, I could 'feel' the markets were weaker but the numbers prove it. £385k on average vs £503k last year on same day. Really odd.

Overall volumes have been fine, but something wrong in the last two days. For some reason.

Yarmouth 4.55 7f Novice stakes, at post time £95k traded. Don't remember seeing so little for a 'main' UK race.

Beverley 5.10 1 mile handicap, 10 mins out £40k traded. The big moves today are happening in the dying seconds before the stalls open.

Maybe Benidorm is especially cheap this year? 8-)

Would you say Eulur, that, that wouldn't be a bad thing for in running traders, close finishes betfair might be inclined to trigger a lot off bots with there cross matching to boost there comission,i find that if there is more then 600k matched it takes a lot to get three under 1.5 but if only 250k matched there are more then you would think hitting low in running, :?:

First decent weather for weeks, moderate racing and too much of it, big meeting next week, lull after a busy spell, Peter sowing the seed in peoples' heads about taking a little holiday....it all adds up. Drip drip drip.

Those bigger turnover StdDev numbers have to happen sometime I guess.
