Hi,
I have a German Excel 2007 Version and Vista Home Premium with German settings. I can't open Excel-sheets with BetAngel. If I try, I get this error-message:
German: "Unable to open workbook -
Altes Format oder ungültige Typbibliothek (Ausnahme von HRESULT :
0x80028018 (TYPE_E_INVDATAREAD))"
English: "Unable to open workbook - old format or
invalid type library. (Exception from HRESULT : 0x80028018 (TYPE_E_
INVDATAREAD))"
Looks like the same problem this guys here have:

If andybody has managed to get a non-english Excel 2007 up and running within BetAngel, please let me know.
Kind regards,
Darko
Does BA work with a non-english Excel 2007 version?
Think the BA staff did not knew it. I wrote to the support, they thought it would be this bug here.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... s%3b320369
But the difference to this bug description is, that I/we have Excel and Windows at the same language settings. I also can't find a MUI-Pack for Office 2007 how listed in the bug-solutions.
I'm still in contact with the support and it seems they're working on a solution. But It would be interesting to know if there is anybody who fixed it on his own.

I don't know, but I surely will not install XP to fix it. Would be interesting if an English-Language Pack for Office 2007 would be sufficient to solve the problem.Backpalm wrote:Install windows XP and office 2007 in english should fix the problem?
It works!!!
Just logged in into BetAngel with currency set to EUR(DE)and Excel runs! Up to know, I always logged in with currency set to EUR, never noticed that there is an EUR(DE)option. I don't know if this was implemented just now after I started writing to the support or if this option existet already before.

Not working for me, my Windows and Office is in spanish. Please Betangel crew, fix this problem, it's an important issue for a 170€/year program.
You're right. I suggest you to contact the support directly, refering to this thread.

How did you solve it?
I had the problem today (I'm Spanish also) and the only way I have managed to be able to use excel is installing an English version of Office.
So if you don't mind, how is it exactly solved? Because before I installed the English Office version all I was getting was the "unable to connect" message.
Thanks!
