Sat 1st at Thirsk Q

I hope someone can help me figure out what happened that made a real mess of things for me in the 1st race at Thirsk. I'm in Oz and presume it's something to do with a non-runner, but I was trading happily in the hour or so leading up to the race and was trading Normandy Maid, then suddenly a lot of odds were reset and my $100 lay order that had sat next to the column showing green $5 suddenly just said green $0.78. I was confused and tried to green up to protect my position, and every horse in the field went green except Normandy Maid, which showed -$22. I tried a couple of last ditch trades to help things, and they went wrong, so I tried to green again at -$3.70, but Normandy Maid still said -$26.
Naturally, the bloody thing won, so I have ended up with a $26 loss. Can anyone explain to me what happened? I noticed a rogue looking bet for $50 at 5.69 popped in there when the market was at 6s, so I presume that's the culprit somehow. I'm just totally confused what happened.
