Hi All
How can you tell if you are at the front of the book?

Getting to the front of the book
There's nothing in place to determine exactly where you are - It needs to be done yourself!
When I place a bet I always note how much was already sat there waiting & how much had already been traded on that selection.
I can then work out where I am as things go on

i'm pretty sure you can't. However it is fairly easy to take a mental note of the money in front of you when entering, and then watch how much has been taken. The "highlight traded odds" option comes in handy here, as it alerts you to where the money has been taken.
That said surely it is possible to create an estimate of where in the queue you are as a BetAngel function? Amount of money pre placement - money taken post placement? the Only problem would be money that has been pulled from the queue and not been matched. Has BetAngel looked into this at all?

The only way to be sure you are at the front of the book is to put money there when there is none. Other than that you need to guess or estimate in your mind how near the front you are.
We have looked at queue indicators but it has proved impractical to try and implement one as cancelled or moved orders mess up the queue. Without streaming order data from Betfair it is unlikely you will be able to get an accurate indicator. To provide streaming Betfair would need to completely overhaul their system so there is little chance of that in the near term.
