I had a tenner on this one at 8 with the intention of moving it down when the lay bet got matched, but somebody was happy to lay at 8 !Tally Mo, 00-49 Penn National.jpg
How do you even trade something like that?
Is it a case of waiting for a bet to get matched which shouldn't and then trading out at the normal price?

It was the other way round. I was expecting the lay bet to get matched first and then I'd move the back bet down. But I've learnt from experience with low liquidity markets that people take crazy prices, either because they have to close trade where ever it is, or perhaps their just crazy and take whatever price is available. So it's always worth leaving bets where you don't expect them to get matched, because they sometimes do. :D

What just happened? I greened up in play for £8 profit across all slections, then AFTER the race ended had some of my bets seemingly removed and now have a -£7 red??? WTF?

So why on earth did it still trade in play? They have removed the profitable bets I made on that one (not realising ofc) and left me with the unprofitable trades (over-layed) on the winner... Seems totally unfair to remove best after race ends??

It was too near the start to remove and reform the market (its not uncommon), The rule4 is only applied to bets matched before the start, anything matched after the start wont be adjusted

If you see a horse play up and think it could be a late withdrawal the safest action is to fully hedge before the start of the race, ensure that everything is matched, and then do nothing more and wait for the next race

Presumably this sort of thing won't happen when they roll-out In-Play to the public in a big way? If not they better get a few more staff in the call centre.

Either that or take advantage of the fact people/bots are playing blind :D

You need to remember that when there's a late withdrawal before the start, reduction factors only apply to bets place before the off - not to in-play bets.

Discipline down the drain today. A string of mistakes at Musselburgh, including forgetting to cancel an unmatched bet until inplay.
