Is there any extra load placed on the Betfair Servers when I select a faster refresh rate (with streaming data)?
For example do the Betfair servers deliver market data updates more frequently to the Bet Angel client application when say I select 100ms refresh than when I select a 200ms refresh?
Or are the betfair market data streams identical regardless of which refresh rate is selected and the refresh rate is purely controlled by the Bet Angel software?
The newbies section is probably not the ideal place to ask this question but I cant see anywhere else in the forum to ask technical questions on the software!

Your 2nd assumption is correct. The stream remains constant and BA controls the refresh rate. I've always assumed BA caches the stream and applies it in batches according to the refresh rate, therefore not missing any data but preventing your screen from being a confusing blur of rapid changes.
If BA utilises conflation (which it should) then a lower refresh rate does reduce load on Betfair, however Betfair don’t care (relative to polling) as it has more impact on the the client (CPU)ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 1:44 amYour 2nd assumption is correct.
