quote="SpikeyBob"]Sorry to hear that you have given it up Andy, but at the end of the day you don't need all the grief that comes with the blog I suppose. I found it very informative and it certainly helped me when I was first starting out. A very honest appraisal of trading and a riveting read. So it's sad that you have stopped, but as long as you are happy that's the main thing.

I have a Razor Mamba mouse and Belkin N52te keypad as well as Auto Hotkey and Winsize 2 thanks to some of your tips in recent weeks/months :).

All the best with your trading anyway and thanks for all the sharing of your experiences in the past.[/quote]

Hi
I was reading this thread and gave it a new heading...(Hope that OK SpikeyBob
I didnt see Andy's original posting about hotkeys and was thinking about implementing it myself too. (The N52TE is only £35 from play.com

Other than the Z; X and C function in BA, are there any things you can share that you find save you time and help you trade better??

Is it a worthwhile investment?
Thanks

Hi Peter,

Well, unfortunately, the n52te is something that I have never got around to implementing yet. I use Winsize to semi automate my screen layout and that's about it.

I was thinking of using AutoHotkey for doing things like preset stake selection. You can get it to click anywhere on your screen and if you are using winsize you should be able to guarantee that the stake presets are on the same part of the screen all the time. I use the 3 ladder screen to trade on (manually), so selecting a stake for 1 horse, would not change it for all horses which may or may not suit peoples trading styles.

Using AutoHotkey I have yet to look into checking for a mouse region and then clicking at particular co-ordinates and also saving the current cursor position and restoring it afterwards. However, I'm pretty certain that AutoHotKey would be able to do this as I have used it for other work related things in the past and it is extremely flexible.

I'm not sure what Andy uses it for explicitly, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is using it for something similar (mouse movements that is) as it's quicker to press a key than move a mouse hundreds of pixels. :)

Cheers

Spikey

Ok Thanks Spikey
I've decided to order the N52TE and I'll have a play around with it when I get back from hols.

I guess that the beauty of something that you are able to customise; everyone will do something different given the same set of tools

Anyway, cheers for the reply
regards
Peter
