How strange! I had a £25 green up order for Marten 14:40 Bangor and basically the market was taking the rise! It was sitting there for an eternity with £1 and £2 being picked off despite £1000+ being traded at the price. I am not sure what is actually happening but it isn't fair practice in my humble opinion. It feels like you are being shoved backward in the queue while "other money" is being traded!?!?

Haha. No would never charge and have no interest in tipping. Just get satisfaction out of sharing the winners. I like to see people win.

Thanks for pointing this out. I've notice it takes frustratingly long to get bets matched with pound coins being chiselled off my orders, but I've never looked at the volume being traded at the price.

It's been happening since 2009 as far as I am concerned but it is now much worse and to be honest it's crooked! I complained initially because something was clearly wrong, Their excuse was cross matching but that is complete bollocks! If I remember correctly they switched it on without announcing it and then had to hold their hands up when taken to task! I think they "officially introduced it" late 2010 but that is smoke and mirrors.

It's Betfair themselves, I'm convinced of it. Their greed has destroyed the exchange ecosystem

What can you do?.......nothing!
Their attitude is.......this is our ball, if you don't want to play, then fook off - which was their exact attitude to PC payers

can only be betfair, if they have been giving (for a fee ofcause) certain people or groups of people an advantage in matching bets over the majority, i think its reasonable to assume that it would fairly common knowledge by now given the length of time its been going on who those were who had the advantage, but there seems to be no rumours or hints of anyone or any group with such an edge.

Interesting simultaneous backing and laying on the 12:50 at 4mins 10 seconds before scheduled start. Favourite Mr Coco Bean got pushed in from 3.05 to 2.94 with a 6.7% volume increase. Simultaneously Jock Talk got pushed out from 5.3 to 6.8 with a 8.7% volume increase and Breaking Free got pushed out from 6.8 to 7.4 with a 5.4% volume increase. All this happened in less than 1 second.

In the lead up to the race Mr Coco Bean came in further and finished the race in 2nd - nothing particularly unusual. Jock Talk's odds recovered after spending about 90 seconds at higher odds but tanked in the race and Breaking Free drifted further to 9.4 but actually won the race. I was manually trading on the wrong end of the Jock Talk odds spike and exited my position while I was trying to figure out what was happening. Given the simultaneous timing of the backing and laying then there was definitely a bit of manipulation going on there but I'm trying to figure out what their overall strategy might have been so I can look out for it in future via automation. Was the aim to gain on Jock Talk by backing it back in or to get better odds for Breaking Free? Answers on a postcard.

Are you not just describing XM due to the backing on the favourite?
