Does anybody employ a profitable system or systems and punt through the exchanges?

Obviously this is gambling as opposed to trading but I am curious to know if other people use this type of strategy to assist in maximising there earnings outside of their trading profit/loss.

I trade but also run seperate banks for a number of systems, which ultimately are more profitable to run through the exchange rather than a bookmaking account or high street betting shop as I can get a far better price/return.

Every system I use is based on a methodical long term strategy and staking plan but ALL are profitable at the bookmakers SP, so as you can imagine the profitability is enhanced via the exchanges.

I think it is something that most people ignore and was curious to the thoughts of the forum users on this.

Thanks

Hi kinglouie

I have used various self-developed systems and some which I purchased (steer clear of these).

For any system to be profitable long term one must consistently get value prices on their selections.

Every system, good or bad, will at some stage show some success but most will fail long term.

At this stage I just record daily results on a number of systems rather than risking my hard earned but all of these systems are value based.

I'd find it hard to believe that any system could be profitable at bookies sp but I hope in your case I'm wrong.

Best of Luck
Sean.

Hi Sean

We obviously think in a similar fashion and I do risk my hard earned once (after research and trials) I am happy with a system.

One system I have used for 2 1/2 years has consistently produced profits to bookmakers SP.

In 2009 it had the following success.

80 Selections

39 Winners

Which generated a closing balance of £11,400.18 on a starting bank of £2,000.

This gave me an outright profit of £9,400.18 over the course of 12 months.

The system incorporates a staking plan and a very specific strategy in one particular type of race only, but as you can see it works.

Took me a while to get it to where it is but it was worth all the very painstaking hours of research and trials at the outset.

The funny thing is I only came across it after something somebody told me and I used that along with a few of my own thoughts, ideas and some knowledge to identify this little gem of a system.

As a result I am always researching and trialing new ideas to see if I can out do the system I have mentioned above, as of yet I have not succeeded.

Regards

I only know this system

but I wouldn't put my money on it although they seem to have profitable results.

For some reason, when I hear the word "system" I always step back from it.

Just had a look and I suggest they need to review their strategy

Does your system pick out winners or losers ?

Never mind, to have 39/80 and be in profit you must be picking winners... :P
