I have just noticed on Big Brother Winner market that the amount available to back is showing different amounts on the API to normal Betfair page.
The lay prices are all the same.
When I placed a bet on Josie @ 1.61 £200+ available to back on API I tested a £2 stake it wasn't matched, the £200+ disappeared and my £2 appeared on the lay side. Has anyone any ideas about this.

This is normal:

The latest version of Bet Angel can do the same thing:

Yeah I think understand that but when I placed my £2 test bet it wasn't matched and then showed as a lay although there was over £200 available to back at the time which then disappeared as soon as I placed my bet.

Sounds like you have offsetting on and when you went to take some money the person with the £200 pulled the bet?

Hi
No I didn't have offsetting on and the market wasn't in play so there was no time delay. The market also isn't a usual cross matching market because runners have been added. Just very confusing to me.

If there is no money available to back at the current price then your back bet will appear in the market on the lay side of the market. It will still be a back bet but just waiting in the queue to get matched.

Just to clarify
On the API there was over £200 available to back Josie at 1.61. This was not showing on normal betfair screen best price available was 1.6. I placed a bet to test this at 1.61 and it wasn't matched and then showed as available to lay with the £200+ disappeared.

the refresh on the api can be up to 200 milliseconds as opposed to the main BF site which is alot slower, the £200 you mention abviously just got pulled before your bet hit the market , and the difference you are seen is the time differential between the api refresh rates and the slower main site.
