Can't see why people would invest in this? Am I missing something?

30% of profits and 3% fees, this seems a money maker for the provider, not the customer.

Hi
That's an interesting link...
I've noticed that they also offer various courses and webinars (although can't see any prices!)...I like the idea of live trading evenings..such as the 3hr football trading evening...
Regards

All sounds a bit fishy to me?

Great news, a company playing with other people's money

From another forum some interesting info has come up about this:

Firstly this article:

http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/co ... 936116.htm

Note: Tony Hargraves - only one I know is known as Badger in trading circles, imo his reputation goes before him.

One of the comments interestingly refers to 'a Badger' you use as your edge...

Also as one of the comments suggests, try Googling "Centaur ASA"

Then there is this thread that shows the Brochure they send out - hmmmm

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/sho ... ?t=1998045

Can't say I would fancy 'investing' in them!

Edit: Forgot to include the second link - doh!

Other way around, they were tipsters that own horses but seem to have repackaged their tips as an investment!!!!

Something's not right here, that's for sure

It wouldn't surprise me if an organisation like this is actually the 'mad bomber' or 'manipulator'

It's very easy to make rash decisions when playing with other people's money

I don't think I would 'invest' 100k with someone who compares themselves with Neo out of the matrix!!...think he took the wrong colour tablet when he did this interview! :D

If you look at there tipping service results they made just over 30pts in 2009 and 18pts in 2008, thats 2.5 pts and 1.5pts per month respectively.

With that in mind would you invest 100K

If I could'nt make 2.5 pts a week I would give it up as a bad job!!!

These guys are genuine. One of the problems tipsters have is that everyone assumes they are all rubbish/fraudsters. They aren't. There are many good ones around, and Centaur are one of them.

I've been with Centaur for about 3 or 4 years. The fees are high but the performance has always been excellent.

They started out in horse racing (tipping) but moved into other sports (and trading) quite some time ago. Certainly not a new start up and if you speak to the guys involved you'll see real knowledge.

They offer both tipping and trading services, and either do it yourself (ie they give the advice, you place the trades) or managed accounts where they do it all for you. I have a mixture, some small funds with them, the rest I place myself.

The reason they are getting a lot of press now is becase of the launch of a new fund which is I believe the first FSA regulated sports fund (I may be wrong on this). The level of investment required is far too rich for my blood, but I have no doubt they will make investors money.

I wouldn't say they are necessarily for people on this forum. They are more for people who have a chunk of cash to invest and want someone else to manage it for you. No different from any other sort or fund really, and the returns compare very very favourably.

Other than being a customer, I have no interest in Centaur, so I am not saying any of this as a sales plug.
