It's no good, Cartmel goes down as a course I have to visit. Looks very pretty but every time I hear the 'Sticky toffee pudding' race I can't help but wonder what that tastes like!

I also want to visit Laytown.

Cartmel is quaint and good fun. If you were in the area when the races aren't on you would probably miss it. The course is just a small oval in a field. I don't mean that in a derogatory sense, it's a great course but blink whilst driving by and you'd miss it.

I've been to Laytown a couple of times and that is great fun. I must admit the first time I visited was with some local Irish lads while on a fishing holiday and I was 3 sheets to the wind...the Guiness is pretty good  I was gobsmacked when we arrived at the "course" and it was on a beach...I was expecting donkeys. We sure had the craic that night despite not backing a single winner!!
