You wouldn't see this happen at Wimbledon: -

US Open
I was lucky to back Schnyder at 10.5 for small amounts but I am out of that match now. Hoping to conclude the Fish match soon, as I have been up since very early this morning and I am now very tired.

Yes, another cracking game to trade.
There'll be a few more swings in this final set too

I don't know if you have noticed how the odds are moving in these markets. There are obviously people trading courtside or as close as in the US because the odds are shifting just after a point has been completed. Not a problem for my trading style but an interesting observation.

I noticed it at the Cincy Masters too
In fact, on another thread I made the point that the cameras showed a guy frantically putting information into an iphone when other people around him were clapping a good shot
We came across a courtsider once by accident. One of the guys just played dumb and asked what he was doing. The guy was a bit of a wally as he told everything including who he was and who he was working for. He was only young and his 'master' was sending him all over the planet to look at different tournaments.
It was quite staggering to learn of the scale of these things, so much that it changed the way I did Tennis. I only enter or exit the market now at moments I know the courtsiders can't touch.

What sort of technology was he using?Bet Angel wrote:We came across a courtsider once by accident. One of the guys just played dumb and asked what he was doing. If he was a young wally, you're obviously suggesting that for experienced traders, this is easier to manipulate courtside than one would expect?

I'm not asking you to give away your entry and exit points but I cannot imagine at which moments the courtsiders cannot touch? They have access to placing a back or lay at any point of the match, quicker than you can.
Personaly I have my own entry/exit points based on price points and match criteria, courtsiders are out there we all know that, the only way I can see how you can reduce your chances of giving them a free lunch is not leaving unmatched bets in the market for them to hover up.

In terms of when to place the trades I think Peter is saying that he will enter a trade at the conclusion of the point and not when one of the players is just about to serve as the courtsiders may already have reacted to the serve being an ace or netted for example. You can often tell what happened with a serve before the pictures tell you by the odds movement.
