I stopped trading US racing for this same thing... you will very occasionally get this on greyhound racing too. Seen greyhounds be off minute before the off, but now and again 20/25 seconds early. If i dabble on greyhounds I make sure im out by 30 secs to post time. Frustrating as lot of opportunitys in US racing and i think the rarety shouldnt make much difference even if your caught out I just realise the stress it caused wasnt worth it.

It's quite rare these days and it's not really a problem because they usually just cancel the in-play trigger.

It's because the yanks don't have off track betting. There's no need for them to run anything to time, everyone there can see what's happening.

in light of Peter's "slow & steady" post on his blog the other week, just thought I'd post something similar, have to stop for the day now but not bad S/R for a Sunday..

Nine out of nine for the day is very satisfying. For me it's even more rewarding than winning three times as much on a roller-coaster ride. :)

cheers Derek, all I want to do is be consistent, there was a time where I used to always look for the “Hollywood Moves”, however I’ve come to the conclusion that that’s not the way to go, if I just stick to the plan they’ll come off without me trying to find them, just got to manage the downside

Nice results and a perfectly valid reason to display results!

If I can help, ignore your strike rate, clearly obvious you can do this. Your strike rate no longer means anything to you. Do what you need to do in the market and move onto the next. I used to be so obsessed with strike rate, what matters is each week or month you have that lump.

If it comes to your chosen payday and its not enough, go back an evaluate. The phycology of trading really gets to most of us.

If i could start trading all over again without any experience I would just concentrate on two things only. Manging risk in each market and trying not to get myself in a silly position. The market margins are like 1%, at the end of the month it would take hardly any skill to even make the smallest profit. Ignoring strike rates and p and l would do this.

Where I am at in my trading journey, as I made a promise to never stop learning I currently working towards mastering my thoughts to my staking and how much I think the market can take. The most difficult thing I have ever encountered.

Excluding Sundays, I cannot remember the last time an AW meeting wasn't scheduled on a weekday.

Neither can I. It's a time of year where we sometimes get a lot of rain as well.

Seems to be a lot of money being mindlessly moved up and down the ladder - not much being matched.
