I don't know and they haven't said bar that they are able to deal with such a situation.

I predict they'll fail to let the maket go in-play.

How is the half marathon training going?

I can't see them not putting the market inplay as it would cost them a fortune and cause uproar. I would guess they have some new way of removing runners or making it so certain runners can be not included, tbh I don't know how they will do it but I am confident they will have a method - they are far more cleverer than me and if they sniff a profit is to be made they will get the hounds out!

The training is going well thanks, doing plenty of rowing as well as running, the 1/2 plus another 2 weeks later is just a training run for a marathon with the ultimate aim being to run the Comrades Marathon at the end of May :o

We have all seen the message "due to technical issues we were unable to turn the market in-play", well I don't know and an not convinced they know either. I remember them fecking about with the the reduction factor two years ago and they had to retract that one and refund loads of people, including me.

Comrades marathon ooooh. I am doing a load of cycling at the mo, but getting home in time to watch the tour de france each day.

Does anyone know if this ever got implmented as the norm? i.e. in every in play horse race? I've looked in the service area of the forum and it only mentions the fisrt trial at the two tracks.

Cheers

No it hasn't been implemented.

I asked on the last forum chat:

1 . Since the trial of the Cross Matching on the horse racing markets we have not heard anything more on the subject. Could you please update us. Will you be introducing it and if so when? Was the trial not a success and hence why we have not seen it return?

Betfair replied:

1) The trial of cross matching on inplay racing markets went well. We hope to introduce this soon, although this requires some IT development work first. We’ll let you know when we have more accurate information on a start date.

I wonder if they are waiting for the Jumps season.

Cheers for that, I guess I'll have to look elsewhere for my dropped profitability!

When they say IT development, they probably need to beef up the servers...the infrastructure seems CPU bound already (esp on a sat afternoon when the football is on)...the cross matching will surely put more strain on the systems I would have thought?

Maybe it just didn't make as much money as they thought ;)

I had a great strategy that took advantage of the book going above or below 100% on the footy. Cross matching killed that stone dead overnight.
