Today I changed my trading style and was surprised to have my best day so far, not in profit terms but in consistency.
But I know all too well that what works today may not work tomorrow.
I was wondering how others found trading today, did the markets seem easier to read than normal?
Sunday
I generally don't do Sunday's so I can't comment on what yesterday was like. We do capture data though and run spreadsheets on a Sunday. Yesterday didn't seem anything special. Generally volumes are a bit lower on a Sunday but yesterday you also had Listowel and Curragh on so that may have change up the flow a bit?
I don't normally do sundays either but did yesterday and found it better than I expected. I don't want to dampen your hopes but the markets do change quite drastically from day to day (no depending on day of the week, I just mean in general) and you may find that what works well one day works poorly another and you're left thinking to yourself 'what's WRONG with the markets today, it SHOULDN'T be like this'!! The best thing you can do is to adapt the the kind of conditions you find on a particular day (probably what you did yesterday) but remember that you may have to use different strategies for different conditions. I may be barking up the wrong tree here of course and it may well be that you've found a good style that suits you but this is certainly my experience
I agree with hgodden. Trading changes dramatically from day to day. I only traded from 4.00 PM onwards, but I found it very easy to predict, with only one losing trade, (excellent for me) if only every day was like that. Unfortunately, I am not so good as to have to many trading styles to choose from, so I sometimes end the day wishing I had left it alone and gone out for the day. But I know that will change in time, even if I have to attend another one of Peter’s courses.

Well, if the reason I did so well yesterday was because you had a day off then please take more days off, you deserve it!Bet Angel wrote:I generally don't do Sunday's

I see a clear difference between 'big races' (high quality races) and the standard lower grade races. For the big races, there are far fewer trade swings (the long-term prices don't move much, they are just bouncing back and forward within a fixed range). The lower grade races are more volatile, and here you get the big swing trades and dramatic price shifts.
