Tipping is impossible because of the way people perceive losses and profits. Losers hurt and mean the tipper hasn't a clue, a winner would have been picked anyhow and therefore no skill. That's how it seems to work.

It's not tipping that's impossible, it's just that some people have the wrong perception of what a tipster is aiming for. Lay people often get excited after a winner and despondent after a loser rather than viewing gambling as a long-term investment.
