Might improve for the last couple - but friends and relatives today - or alternatively the needy and the greedy - haven't worked out which classification I'm in yet.

BTW - do you ever sleep? I just checked and it's 0550 over in England!!

15% is completely bonkers. I don't think they put much thought into it and will probably kill off the industry the way they're going.

Watch this for more info on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijbgvhQsXvM&t=1s. You don't earn any betfair discount points in South Australia because of the point of consumption tax.But still on pay 6% commission the same as Victoria and Queensland. You have to pay 10% in NSW and 8% in Western Australia. The commission is not going to be 15%.

They also have a interview with the CEO of Betfair Australia on the same channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPTqOIM2e74

At work now so thanks will watch them when I get home.

It just frustrates me no end the debate is so unsophisticated in Australia. It’s all about smoke and mirrors, the appearance of doing something to prevent problem gambling. All they are really doing is making potentially profitable forms unviable and pushing people to the higher margin products where they lose even more - but tax revenues go up.

First day of the 3 day Swan Hill carnival so seeing a bit more action than a normal Vic Friday country meeting.

Thanks, did well last night but didn't realise it was a carnival. Turnover wasn't great but plenty of activity.

Don't suppose anyone has a handy list of AUS courses and their accompanying commission?

e.g.
Belmont 8%
Randwick 10%

Vic, Qld, SA 6%
WA 8%
NSW 10%

So yes Derek is correct, there was a promo where Vic courses were at 5% for a short period.

Is the market base rate applicable to the state the course is in, ie. all courses within the same state has the same MBR?
