Today's Horse Racing
just cherry picking today, I didn't realise I had this much patience, I actually think trading has improved me personally, there used to be a time where I'd get quite hot headed when I couldn't get on a move, these days I just let them by, probably one of the reasons why I used to lose money back then as a newbie

It doesn't bother me too much (as an inplay only trader who only trades the longer races) except for the domino effect of delays when anything goes wrong. In principle I think you're right though. If I were playing the shorter races too then I think Saturdays would drive me crazy.

Thanks Simon, I learnt something from that.
I didn't realise you could start a youtube video in the middle with a URL suffix.
fair comment

Np I remember a while back looking at just my losing races, & noticed a huge proportion came from Hcaps. So I decided to not trade Hcaps; seemed logical. What I noticed was that my results actually got worse. What I failed to see was that the majority of my winners were coming from handicaps (my trade frequency tanked massively) - massive survivorship bias that one.
Yeah can be done if you share the vid (vid description).

If your handicaps were profitable why did you ditch them? ie why were you looking at the loses without looking at the bottom line.ruthlessimon wrote: ↑Sat Jun 16, 2018 6:40 pmI remember a while back looking at just my losing races, & noticed a huge proportion came from Hcaps. It helps the racecourses, if only 3 per day were allowed to put meetings on, when would they get any paying public through the gate and when would the racecouese staff earn a wage? It's only an issue anyway if you want to watch everything, exclude the rubbish and you're lucky if there's a half decent race every 20mins.

Had a terrific day... my best ever. I'm actually starting to think over the last 3 days, after 7 months of getting nowhere, that a level of understanding which previously eluded me has now actually clicked into place.
This week:
Sunday +£0.52
Monday +£2.67
Tuesday +£1.19
Wednesday +£0.01
Thursday +£9.49
Friday +£11.15
Saturday +£26.93
