Has anyone received a phone call from Bet365 this week?
I haven't had a bet with them for weeks
Yesterday afternoon I received a call from their customer service department offering me a 100% deposit bonus on any market of my choice. I deposited £100, and sure enough they added another £100 to my account
I was somewhat surprised as Bet365 appear to be growing fast. Surely, this is a sign that the recession is causing bookies lots of problems with regards to turnover
Struggling Bookmakers
My wife had the same offer by e.mail a couple of weeks ago, she's not used them for a couple of years, doesn't gamble any more. There are conditions, you have to bet with it a few times before you can withdraw it. I offered to get it out for her through Betfair, but she won’t have anything to do with gambling anymore.

Hope you don't mind me asking davy, but did you have an account with this bookie at the same time as your wife and if so did you fund from the same bank account?
I have been banned/restricted at all the decent ones and it would be helpful if I could get my wife to open some accounts then I could advise her what to bet.
Bet365 said it was not financially viable to allow me to bet with them and have not phoned or emailed I'm afraid.

Its easy to cheese them off, just keep chasing their best prices which are fairly easy to spot comparing the Betfair prices in Guardian to the bookies prices. The best one I got was 15.0 at Centerbet and Betfair were 7.6. The mornings are a good time when the different tipping services cause large fast price moves.
Unfortunately they all boot you off in the end whether taking money from them or not. I used to stake thousands a day doing this but the best I can get on now is pennies.

I would think there will be some contraction with firms joining or being taken over. Market leaders Ladbrokes and William Hill have really caught a cold since Betfair. They are still trading well but anyone doing a 5 year forecast in 2002 - would have predicted the share price, growth and the profits to be much greater.
One of those probably Hills will imo be sold, not because its a good buy with great prospects but because the directors will see that the business has no growth and will want to cash in their shares. Many of them are dyed in the wool shop people who have risen through the ranks and dont really understand the internet. They started behind the counters in the 50s and 60s arguing with drunks, and people placing horse racing bets from their living room is an anathema to them. Buy their shares because when a bid comes in u should be able to make a profit.
