Congrats to all you English guys on here :) That'll, as a penalty win, do more to get rid of past ghosts than a 5-0 win would have.

Balls of steel, or at least great level of confidence, to step up to the plate for England with all that's gone before. Well done to all five, especially 20yo Rashford and Dier taking the fifth.

I'm limited to next to no stake at every bookie, but if I weren't, I would be having some of the 30/1 on Kane for the Ballon D'or. If England wins the cup, with Kane as Captain and Topscorer, it would have a very good chance of happening.

What a relief, nervy stuff.

Had quick look at 'to qualify' odds just before the penalties and was from memory - Colombia 1.87 / England 2.12 or thereabouts, head was mashed by then so could be few ticks out! But interesting we were no longer favourites though.

Predictions:

QF 1: Uruguay vs. France
Winner: France 2-1

France in top form, Mbappe a new star and France pull away with a strong win

QF 2: Brazil vs Belgium
Winner: Brazil: 2-0

Belgium don't have enough to beat the South Americans, Brazil for the win!

QF 3: Sweden vs England
Winner: England 1-1 (England win in penalty shoot-out)

England solid enough to scrap through against a strong Swedish outfit. England win in yet another penalty shoot-out!

QF 4: Russia vs. Croatia
Winner: Croatia 2-1

The hosts play strongly, but Croatia too good in the end, they take this!

SF 1: France vs. Brazil
Winner: France 3-2 (2-2 full-time, France score in extra time)

A cracker match with France and Brazil both scoring 2 goals each in normal time, goes to extra time, and France edge it!

SF 2: England vs. Croatia
Winner: England 0-0 (England win in penalty shoot-out)

A tough, physically aggressive match, with the two teams cancelling each other out. It goes to penalties again, and England win their 3rd penalty shoot-out ':D

FINAL: France vs England
Winner: France 2-2 (France win in penalty shoot-out)

In a sensational final, France and English are tied 2-2 after normal time. Goes to extra time, then penalties. Facing their 4th penalty shoot-out of the tournament, Sterling applies slightly too much power to his shot, and it goes over the bar. English dreams extinguished in a penalty shoot-out yet again!

LES BLEUS! :D

Why is everyone all of a sudden rating the French?

They beat one of the poorest Argentina sides ever and they were so poor in the group stages too

I agree. From what we’ve seen imo it’s clearly obvious Belgium and England final.

France will crumble if they play Brazil pretty sure on that.
