Game on, I'll have a look down the back of the sofa to see if I can find a couple of million to shift the market enough to put your couple of million on.ruthlessimon wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 9:32 pmIf enough of us do it, we'll create enough of an inefficiency that makes it worth backing England![]()

As I write there is under £0.5M volume on the Russia-Croatia Match odds but over £2.0M on the Sweden-England. It is hard to believe there is no bias in the odds we see here. Even on this forum hardened traders have indicated they would rather abstain than unpatriotically take a position against England.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 6:20 pmThat's true.
This doesn't look great though...
England and Sweden have met each other 24 times, 8 English wins, 9 draws and 7 Swedish wins. But England have only won 2 of the most recent 15 games! - with both coming in the 2011-12 season.
Sweden beat France too in the WC qualifiers.
Sweden 5.1, England 1.96 in normal time? ...something doesn't look right to me. And England 1.47 to qualify looks crazy. As usual more betting with hearts than heads when it comes to England.
I obviously want us to win as much as anyone, but my, non-data proven 'feel' about this would have us about 10/11 or 5/6 ish qualify (say 1.85?).

Not trading today. Can’t even sit stil!

The only trade I will be making today is with the bar man down my local
You give me a four pint jug and I'll give you £10
I've traded overnight and will do the Eclipse. But everything goes off at that point.
I don't rate Sweden. They have defended deep and tried to catch people on the counter, their attack has been poor. But it's only 90mins so who knows. I will trash every Abba record in the world if they deny us.

Unpatriotic? It's not giving away state secrets. Choosing 'patriotism' over fiscal prudence seems to be a common theme these days.
I'm backing Sweden but it's a saver bet, a consolation prize, but it's not the outcome I want obviously and I hope it loses. But it's certainty better than England being out AND having a losing bet.

Don't worry, it's only 1400 sleeps until the next one.
Unpatriotic might have been a poor choice of words (although it wasn't my intention to suggest that it was unpatriotic only that that was how they felt) but there's no question that some at least are conflicted enough to abstain and that they wouldn't otherwise have missed a bargain if they discovered it.
