And that is before the inevitable overnight and on the day withdrawals.
Sorry, I don't see any difference between 'trap bets' and 'past post' bets - they're much the same to me. I would argue it's hypocritical to snap up a fat finger offer but say what I did the other day is immoral.spreadbetting wrote: ↑Tue Jul 24, 2018 2:39 pmWe're not talking about you laying trap bets or bets at poor value, we're simply talking about your "past post" bets. They're placing the bets in good faith unaware the result is known , your sole intention is to take their bet in the hope Betfair's incompetence at managing markets mean you can "rip them off", as you so eloquently put it earlier.
I trust you're not being serious about that but for your information, just a few weeks ago somebody left their £50 cashback at the self-service checkout. I did exactly what anybody else on this forum would do!spreadbetting wrote: ↑Tue Jul 24, 2018 2:39 pmAnyway enjoy your trip to the pub someone may have left a wallet unattended if you're lucky.
I found a wallet in the supermarket carpark with £300 in it, decided to take it to the address on the driving licence rather than let Tesco's Lost & Found pocket it, and the guy gave me £50. Best reward was seeing how happy he was because they looked pretty hard up. He was gobsmacked. I was happy, he was deleriously happy, result.
It's interesting SB, that you've avoided this question?Derek27 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 23, 2018 4:54 pmAre you telling me you wouldn't lay a rank outsider at 1.1 if somebody put in an order at that price, because it's obviously a mistake?
If somebody laid a horse at 6 and obviously didn't realise the odds on favourite has been pulled out of the race and the horse should be 2.8, would you not take that?
Taking advantage of or being on the receiving end of a miss click/firing bot is part and parcel of trading on an exchange, your betting into an open market and it’s up to you to understand the rules and accept responsibility for the bets you place.Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 24, 2018 11:31 pmIt's interesting SB, that you've avoided this question?Derek27 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 23, 2018 4:54 pmAre you telling me you wouldn't lay a rank outsider at 1.1 if somebody put in an order at that price, because it's obviously a mistake?

Dallas, although not so vocal, appears to have a similar point of view ("Personally speaking, I couldn't in good conscious knowingly take a bet in these circumstances"), but when I asked him the same question he didn't reply either?
Perhaps if either of you could explain the difference between ripping off somebody who backs a horse that's already lost, at any price, and ripping off somebody who backs an outsider at 1.01 who hasn't lost because the market is pre-race, I'll reconsider my moral position.
My view at the moment is that it's much the same thing.
